To Bridge or Not to Bridge

Humidity was thick, support was low, but we ran fast any way.  Simple workout of running loops with workouts in between to calm the heart and balance it all out.  We added a bridge kicker to the loop, which intensified everything and added an extra quarter mile to each interval.  Regrets?  Ya kind of, but I’m sure we’ll do it again.  Shout out to Big Bird, who in his semi-training for the Tour De Pain, attacked this w/o and held nothing back.  Dude was flying

Welcome and Disclaimer:

Lots of jokes about Snuffy breaking PUD’s pipes and off we went

Warm Up – .5 mi warm up loop with YHC as tour guide; showing the course for the day and the sights from the top of the bridge; Quad and Hammy stretch, largely for YHC’s aging body

The Thang:

  • 3 Loops of 1 mi each…. Fountain to San Marco BLVD to Prudential Rd to S. Main St to Top of Main Street Bridge, turn around and back to Fountain
    • 10 Step Ups – counting right leg
    • 10 Dips
    • 10 Flutter Kicks – counting right leg
  • 1 Loop of .75 mi… Fountain to San Marco BLVD to Mary St to S. Main St to Top of Main Street Bridge, turn around and back to Fountain
    • 10 Step Ups – counting right leg
    • 10 Dips
    • 10 Flutter Kicks – counting right leg
  • 1 Loop of .5 mi… Fountain to San Marco BLVD to Museum to S. Main St and back to Fountain

The additional kicker to the top of the bridge was beastly but did prevent us from getting to the shorter loops which really help keep the “speed endurance” up… Next time… mix up how often to attack the bridge or cut out one of the big loops
