Merkin Monday

What a great am at Davis Park in Nocatee. 2 bests for the Jax Bandlanders, 26 bandlaners in attendance (1 FNG, welcome Pinocchio) doing a group best of 9230 Merkins (that’s 355 merkins each)  Heres how it went down

 

Warm up

Side straddle hops x15

The Thang

Mosey to the back parking lot alternating butt kicks, high knees and kareoke for a little Route 66 action.  The excercise of choice was the burpee with 5 merkins while in the thrust position.  While waiting on the 6, Al Gore then mosey to next light pole (used the 9 light poles as starting positions) Sets 1 through 6 was a mosey.  From 6 to 7 and 7 to 8 lunges. Before 9 circled up as a group for a little encouragement, read the “Man in the Glass” poem by Peter Dale Wimbrow Sr. , look it up, it’s a good one.  Timer went off after 10 sets (55 burpees 275 Merkins) on to Part 2.

Part 2

Mosey over to football field and partner up for 4 rounds of pure enjoyment

round 1

partner 1 runs 50 yds and does 20 merkins

partner 2 does as many as u can LBCs until partner return, switch

Round 2

P1 – same round 1

P2 does Big Boy sit-ups, switch

Round 3

P1 same rd 1 and 2

P2 does windshield wipers, switch

Round 4

20 merkins each

and since it’s Merkin MOnday, Merkin on the 6

Time to mosey back to flagpole for count o Rama and prayers.  While waiting on the 6, we first planked and then since nobody was tired we did 3 sets of 5 Merkins  everybody loved that part the best!!!
