“Winners and Losers have Goals.  Achieving a Goal is only a momentary change. Goals restrict your happiness. Goals are at odds with your long term progress.  You do not rise to the level of your habits…you fall to the level of your systems.” James Clear , Atomic Habits.

Warm Up..

SSHx 20  QIC was a bit off base but was reminded how to do things by the PAX.

Don Quixote x 20…. 10 Burpees(for Zamboni).Michael Phelps  x 20. Mountain Climbers x 20. Side Planks x 5 each side  OYO. Plank Jacks x 20..Bear Crawl to one sideline, then Frankenstein to the other.

The Thang

First, complete a Burpee Mile…1.2 actually…10 min/ 9 min/ AYG….10 burpees after each lap….Jumanji was given the chance to relieve the PAX of Burpee obligations but could not come up with January’s core concept….mosey to the playground for an 18 minute Ciabatta consisting of Mike Ditka’s, Mountain Climbers, Box Jumps, Swing Thing, Burpees, and Wall Sits.

After completion of the Ciabatta, Ollie North was conjured up….PAX picked a similar size coupon and carried one another to the center of the field.  From there, the PAX did another Ciabatta, this time, Flutter Kicks, Planks, and  Shoulder Taps.

This was followed by another mosey around the field and finished up with Guantanamo Bay.

It was a spirited bunch who enjoyed throwing jabs at one another throughout the workout. QIC was harassed for wearing Yoga Pants and playing Double Respect music for the Ciabatta….The Force and Inside Out were practicing some of their finest dance moves in lieu of Mike Ditkas….the angles on the wall sits were suspect by most and the burpees continued to wear down the PAX.

Jumanji cost the PAX ten burpees for not knowing the core concept for January”we are prepared for the shit to come.”, while Outhouse was able to save the PAX ten because he was familiar with the quote for the month by Honest Abe…”Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend 4 hours sharpening the ax.”

QIC encouraged the PAX to think about good habits they were going to adopt and bad habits that they were going to get rid of. QIC is going to get rid of a 47 year  sugary Mountain Dew habit and alcohol.  Don’t want Gravy to weigh less than the QIC.

Final thought from the book of James…”consider it pure joy brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Thank you gentlemen for giving me the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself. You all are phenomenal.
