Another delightful run day in the Badlands! 8 pax joined YHC in the nippy 45 degree air, eager (not so much…) to mosey. YHC posed this important question in the warm up: What will you do when (not if) you face a crushing loss or defeat? YHC took the opportunity to dedicate this workout to his son Cody, now 25, who two years ago this week left the earth after a motor vehicle accident.
Warm up: Limp Member/ Down Dog calf stretch/ Assisted partner quad stretch
The Thang:
We did the 20 Mile Loop…for a distance of 4.1 miles in 44:31, burning 540 calories along the way. The average moving pace was a blistering 9:07/ mile (6.6 miles per hour). Yes, we did stop for the occasional ‘rest’, which consisted of merkins, LBCs, MCs, mountain climbers. All in cadence, and all numbering 25.
BOM/CR/NR/Announcements/Prayers:
Isiah 40:31
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
It’s said when storms occur, most birds seek shelter/ hide. An eagle flies ABOVE the storm to escape injury.
Let me remind you—
Storms ARE coming
We can find new strength
We can soar again
Peace Out
