It was a cold morning at the Badlands. That did not stop 15 PAX from joining me for a beatdown done in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. YHC was proud to have the Q on this special day as I am a great respector of what Dr. King accomplished, being a voice for those who did not have a voice.

The quote that started us off this cold morning was “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” MLK, Jr.

Warm-up (much needed)
Mosey around the parking lot
SSH x 15 (IC)
Reacher x 10 (IC)
Toy Soldier x 10 (IC)
Hilbilly x 10 (IC)
Michael Phelps x 10 (IC)
Arm Circles- forward and backwards- x 10 (IC)

The Thang

– A long mosey to the back turf field with karaokes and buttkicks mixed in

– The Merkin Ladder
“Faith is taking the first step, even when you can’t see the rest of the staircase” MLK, Jr.

A cone was stationed at the 50 yard line. We ran to the 50, did 1 merkin, then back to the goal line and did 2 merkins. We rinsed and repeated until we got up to 20 merkins. A total of 210 merkins.

-Bearcrawl 11
In honor of the 11 days MLK spent in the Birmingham jail on a bogus charge and the amazing letter her penned, which included these words “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice anywhere” MLK

Goal line- 1 squat, bearcrawl to the 10 yard line, 10 burpees. Complete the exercise. Lunges were an acceptable modification (props to Outhouse for rejecting the audible to lunges and finishing strong).

-Mosey back to flag for 3 more MLK quotes:
“Lifes most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others?”
“The time is always right to do what is right”
“Unless a man has found something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live”

Announcements: F2 lunch at the Loop at the Towncenter this Wednesday.
F3 Sunday on 2/3 at Full Montys church. More to come on slack.

Prayers/Praises- GNCs wife had a clear test. Squeege had a good doctors visit too and prayers for his upcoming procedures, and our brothers on IR.

It was an honor to lead today! Peace.
