Overcoming Adversity

Today’s Message was  about overcoming Adversity. I recently heard a quote that hit home for me as I recently received news that rattled my cage.

” Adversity introduces a man to himself”….

It’s through Adversity, and how you push through, where you truly see what you’re made of.

Eight Brave PAX posted ITG this morning with YHC. They were warned that there was going to be some “suck” this morning, but they overcame anyway.

WARM O RAMA

Pax jumped into Formation around Old Glory for a series of warm-ups.

  • 15 count – Side Straddle Hops – IC
  • 15 count – Michael Phelps – IC
  • 12 count – Little Baby Arm Circles ( Forward ) – IC
  • 12 count – Little Baby Arm Circles ( Backward ) – IC
  • 12 count – Chinooks – IC
  • 12 count – Prisoner Squats – IC
  • 15 count – Alternating Shoulder Taps in Plank – IC
  • 15 Big Boy Situps – OYO
  • 15 Burbees – OYO

MOSEY TO BALL FIELDS

  • High knees to first Light Pole
  • Toy Soldier to the Concession Stand

Upon doing so, PAX noticed a Strange array of lights in a Triangle shape out in right field…. we decided we may have to check that out in a bit.

AT THE BLEACHERS

  • 20 BOX JUMPS
  • 20 BENCH DIPS
  • 20 INCLINE MERKINS
  • 20 DECLINE MERKINS
  • SPRINT TO THE BATHROOMS AND BACK

                                   REPEAT!!!

MOSEY TO THE TRIANGLE OF LIGHTS

This is where the Suck started to set in as we embarked upon the Dreaded BEARMUDA TRIANGLE!!

YHC Positioned 3 lights approximately 20 yds apart in a triangle. Pax seperated in to teams of 3. Exercise was as follows.

  1. 10 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  2. 9 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  3. 8 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  4. 7 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  5. 6 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  6. 5 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  7. 4 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  8. 3 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  9. 2 burpees -Bear crawl counter clockwise to next light
  10. 1 burpees -Then a quick 10 second count off.

( That’s 55 Burpees with 180 yds of Bear Crawls )

MOSEY TO PARKING LOT #2

TIME FOR A LITTLE MUCHO- CHESTO!!

  • 10 MERKINS
  • 10 DIAMOND MERKINS
  • 10 WIDE MERKINS
  • 10 OFFSET MERKINS ( RIGHT )
  • 10 OFFSET MERKINS ( LEFT )

MOSEY TO FLAG

PAX ran backward approximately 50 yds to the Outhouse, then forward SPRINT all the way back to the flag.

AT THE FLAG

TIME FOR A LITTLE RING OF FIRE!!! 2 ROUNDS

  • PAX PERFORMED SIDE STRADDLE HOPS AS A GROUP WHILE EACH MAN CRABWALKED AROUND THE CIRCLE…… ( FIRST ROUND )
  • PAX HELD PLANK POSITION WHILE EACH MAN CRABWALKED AROUND THE CIRCLE…. ( SECOND ROUND )

You know it sucks when the Modification of choice is a Bearcrawl  vs. a crabwalk…..

 

What would a workout be without a little Guantanamo to cap it off!

  • 2 rounds of Guantanamo
  • 5 burpees OYO to Finish it off!

 

 

Way to go this Morning Champs! It was hard, We all Pushed through, and We are all better because of it!
