In honor of the 243rd birthday of The United States of America, 28 men beat the fartsack to better themselves and each other. We are blessed to live in America. We have so much freedom that we often times take it for granted. Even being able to come to a park and workout with your brothers is a gift. It is a gift that did not come without sacrifice. Countless men and women have given their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom we have. There are countless men and women serving our country today that continue to defend our freedom. I pray we never lose focus and appreciation for what we have. Our mission today was simple- we wanted to show our appreciation for the freedom we celebrate by getting better and enjoying fellowship with our brothers. The humidity was an added bonus that made the morning more fun. At 0700 we were off. The Pax were informed that I was in a no way a professional.

With Lee Greenwoods “God Bless the USA” playing, we planked during the verses and did merkins during the chorus. There is a lot of debate whether Mr. Greenwood was saying “I’m proud to be an American” or “I wanna do a Merkin”*. To leave no doubt, we did the merkins during this part of the song.** (*this is completely and 100% made up). (** this was way harder than YHC expected)
