“We lie loudest when we lie to ourselves”

15 PAX greeted YHC in the humid gloom of HardNocs for my 51st Birthday beat down!

The Message: “We lie loudest when we lie to ourselves” – Eric Hoffer (American philosopher, writer, winner of Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983).

YHC listened to Jocko and Goggins a lot in 2019 and they both talk about the dangers of lying to ourselves and believing it!    YHC encouraged the PAX to stop believing the lies we tell ourselves so we can become who we were meant to become!

Warm Up:

The THANG:   Mosey to Spray Park parking lot (up stairs lap around the Splash parking lot)

  • 5 lights/curbs of the Spray Park parking Lot.  
    • 5 burpees > bear crawl > 5 burpees > walking lunge > 5 burpees > bear crawl > 5 burpees > walking lunge > 5 burpees (25 burpees, 40 total completed).  Plank for six.
    • Mosey to event field
  • DORA – PAX get in teams of two. One PAX runs 100 Yards while the other PAX exercises and as a team you will complete the following:
    • Round 1: 51 Overhead press with coupon, 102 Mountain Climbers (each leg), 153 Goblet squats with coupon, 204 American Hammers (with coupon or modify without)
    • Round 2: 51 Kettle Bell Swings, 102 Coupon Curls, 153 Coupon Merkins, 204 Flutter Kicks (holding coupon – did not complete these in time)
  • Mosey back to Flag
  • 11 more burpees to equal 51 – Happy Birthday burpees complete (where was Focker?)!
