5 PAX joined the YHC for a non traditional Run day by modifying a Rugby based endurance workout called the Rectangle
Warmup – Mosey around parking lot, OYO, stretching
The Thang – 6 cones spread ~10 yards apart in the parking lot in the shape of a rectangle
Group 1. Mosey (Jog) the perimeter 60 yards every 30 seconds, repeat 10x.
Group 2. Cruising speed zigzag across cones, 50 yards every 30 seconds, repeat 10x.
Group 3. High intensity run squares, 40 yards every 30 seconds, repeat 10x.
Group 4. Sprint triangle, 34 yards every 30 seconds, repeat 10x.
Recovery in-between each group ~3 minutes with pax rotating calling exercises, Merkins, Squats, SSH, Flutter kicks, BBS etc and stretching.
Bonus round 3-2-1 Parking Lot Suicides -Winner- Wasted!
COT – Prayers for Overall peace and understanding during these times in the world, prayers for PAX with injuries and illness, prayers for friend of Hat Trick entering hospice care at the young age of 42.
Message – Based on inspiration from Thomas Merton’s teachings, Learn to embrace silence and solitude to help find understanding, meaning, and a deeper truth in life. When times are chaotic like this year the paradox of using silence and quiet to find meaning in a modern world of overstimulation and information excess can be helpful.
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
