A couple of weeks ago I was inspired by Bowzer’s intrepid daring to step out of the comfort zone and take a Q at  an AO that wasn’t his usual spot with his usual people.  I saw that a Goodlands Q was available, so I snapped it up.  I have had the pleasure of knowing some of the PV HIMs from the Kraken, the Spartan, and just around F3. I posted at Badlands on Monday to scout it out, led ably through a beatdown by HatTrick.  I needed no juice box for the journey.

After a stirring disclaimer, we warmed up with a Mosey to Bear Crawl Alley, Bear Crawls to the first lightpost, lunges to the second, and then moseyed onto one of the fields, right behind first base.  There were no jokes about getting to first base.  Sad.  We did a few Michael Phelpses and Reachers, and got into

EMOM Workout (Every Minute On the Minute) – Start an exercise every minute on the minute- the faster you get it done, the more time you have to rest before the next exercise.

Set 1 – 3 rounds of 15 Burpees, 30 Merkins, 45 Mountain Climbers (counting each leg)

Mosey to the outfield fence and back

Set 2 – 3 rounds of 30 Bonnie Blairs/Iron Mikes – there was some aggressive discussion about what these alternating lunges were actually called (15 each leg), 40 Carolina Dry Docks, 50 Side Straddle Hops (with some being louder than others).

Mosey to the outfield fence and back

Set 3 – 3 rounds of 25 Groiners, 35 Squat Kicks (some more gracefully than others), and 45 LBC’s

Mosey the long way back to the flag.  Had a couple of minutes to spare, so we knocked out 20 more Merkins and 50 Flutter Kicks.

COT – Psalm 100 exhorts us to Give thanks to the Lord and Call upon his name, but it is the last verse that gives us the strength to give thanks to God in difficult times: The Lord is Good, His mercy is Everlasting, His faithfulness endures from age to age.  It is His character that fuels our character.

Reminded of Convergence at Boondocks on the 4th of July, and Registration is open for the 10 Year Anniversary Convergence in Wilmington.

Finished with the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Thanks for the opportunity fellas! Come grab a Q at Thunderdome/Boondocks!
