9 PAX joined YHC under the full moon at Goodlands with Hat Trick (on the IR) helping again as the burpee EMOM (aka burpee break) and proctor.     After a quick warm up and review of the exercises the PAX hit the timer and got after it!

IronPax Challenge Week “1” Workout (with YHC commentary):

3 Burpees (Begins Rd & EMOM timer) – Hat Trick dubbed these the burpee break.  I never would have thought I would look forward to burpees but I absolutely did!

50 Hand Release Release Merkins  – Holy Lactic Acid build up Batman!  I know I did a bunch of reps out of the gate after figuring out a rhythm but the last 10 or so were grueling, especially mixing in the burpees!

100 Leg Raises  – I think this was definitely the easiest part but likely tired the abs for the Big Boy’s yet to come!

150 Jungle Boi Squats “2Spoonz Style”  – As Full Monty said, these are basically Bobby Hurely’s adding the spoon thing!   From my peripheral vision I noticed that I had to pick up the pace as Left Turn began to really get ahead of PAX at this point.  Chasing Left Turn without a doubt helped me and everyone’s score!

200 Big Boy Sit-ups – OK this was just cruel! I uttered some expletives about the Greenwood boys during this phase!  After 100 the reps between burpees my pace dwindled and it took a lot of grit to power through….I will feel this tonight!

250 Stationary Lunge Steps (ct ea leg as 1 rep) – Once again after 100 rep mark the legs really began to burn and form slipped.  More expletives shared about the Greenwood boys and had to shake out the legs a couple times but seeing Left Turn finish helped as the goal line was visible.   Flo gave me a good push at the end!

Great job by Left Turn leading the PAX with 20:49 and all PAX finished under the Nation’s average!  It was great to see all the PAX keep doing burpees and reps until all were complete!  This is what IPC is all about!  Although this is an individual challenge the best part is starting and finishing as one!  No man left behind!

YHC botched the COT as I was a little delirious from the workout!  Thanks to Full Monty for stepping in!   Announcements for Travis Manion 911 Run/Ruck and Hat Trick Virtual Boston Marathon on the Bridge, IPC week 2 and Labor Day convergence at Mickler.

Prayers for Flo’s brother in laws (one with cancer and one having heart surgery), Wasted’s cousin Michael whose wife passed away, YHC’s co-worker with cancer now in hospice and Boss who lost a son, PAX on IR and silent prayers of PAX.

Once again great work gents and on to week 2!  SYITG
