Pre – St. Valentine’s Day Fun Facts Heart Pumping Beatdown

On a moist gloomy Saturday before Valentine’s Day morning, Wasted Q’d and led 7 other Pax – Saigon Sam, Valdez, Thumper, Ether Bunny, Bada Bing, and Gizzard…plus we welcomed FNG Sideways (Ken Heinrich), all joined in on a fun-filled and fact-filled heart pumping partner beatdown at the Hard Nocs AO.  This is what occured.

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.  While many love the holiday and many hate it with a passion, it is still a good excuse for suffering.  Today’s Q is certainly not big on “Hallmark Holidays.”  That said, in the spirit of the Valentine’s Day, today’s I chose of theme of partnering and companionship…and I found out some facts – 2 of which you learn now….others within our partner workout…  No one wants heartbreak on Valentine’s Day, but sometimes you have to face the pain.

Fact #1 – ST. VALENTINE is the patron saint of lovers, epileptics, and beekeepers, Young People, Happy Marriages.  By some accounts, St. Valentine was a Roman priest and physician who suffered martyrdom during the persecution of Christians by the emperor Claudius II Gothicus about 270. … Valentine’s Day is a lovers’ festival dates at least from the 14th century.

Fact #2 – average time for sexual intercourse is….25 minutes.   I let that one simmer into some mublechatter as we mosey’d up the stairs 3x as a warm up and circled up

In lieu of 10 count….Fun Fact # 3 – In the 3^rd century AD, Roman Emperor Claudius II forbade his soldiers to marry during wartime, believing it would create a distraction.  Valentine performed wedding ceremonies for soldiers against the emperor’s wishes and was jailed and executed for his treachery.  He died on February 14, 269 AD.  Prior to his death, he wrote a letter to his jailor’s daughter and signed it, “from your Valentine”.

In lieu of 10 count….Fun Fact # 6 –  Valentine’s Day spending tops Easter, where we spend $18.4 billion; and Halloween, where spending clocks in at $9.1 billion, according to the NRF. Not so shocking: men will spend the most on the holiday, an average of $339. Women spend around $64, according to a survey by WalletHub.

In lieu of 10 count….Fun Fact # 7 – In 1929 Chicago, 7 members of Bugs Moran’s gang were murdered in a garage, most likely by Al Capone’s men.  Moran’s crew had been hijacking Capone’s bootleg liquor shipments out of Detroit, and this attack was believed to be retribution.  Some of Capone’s gang dressed as police officers so they could make an escape and not be noticed by the public.  Moran’s men were lined up against a wall and executed with Tommy Guns.  One of the victims, Frank Gusenberg, was found by medics with 14 gunshot wounds, but somehow still alive.  Not wanting to snitch when asked who shot him, he replied, “No one shot me.”  He died 3 hours later.

Message:
Relationships are the primary means God established for learning about and preserving His commandments. However, these close relationships are often lacking in today’s society. By coming to F3 and honoring our M’s on V day, is a way of raising up mature Christian disciples within our community.

MATTHEW 22:36-40
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

ECCLESIASTES 4:9-10
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Christian Prayer:
F3 is non demoninatonal, but I am a christian, so i will end this session with a christian prayer:  Lord, I pray and ask for your assistance dear God, in my relationships. Release what stands in my way from achieveing true love. Make the one I love see me in the light of love and make every line fall in beautiful places for me. Make us love more oh Lord, and let us be a living testimony of your love.  Amen.
