11 Pax joined YHC on a hot and humid morning at HarNocs to find out about “The Standard”

The HIM builds true Accountability into his life by submitting to Standards through Enforcement and Consequence. While this does not bring him short-run Happiness, it is the only thing that can deliver him Hope.

True Accountability starts with a Standard, which is an objective measure of performance or behavior.  To be Effective, it must be inarguable. If it contains any subjective wiggle-room then it is not a Standard.

YHC informed the PAX we would be completing the Army PFT today to gauge our fitness levels against an objective standard.

Warm Up. 5 minutes

  • Side Straddle Hop 10 IC
  • Michael Phelps 10IC
  • LBAC forward and back
  • Imperial Walkers 10IC
  • Hillbillies 10IC
  • Limp Member
  • Down Dog, Valdez, Peter Parker

The Thang:

Army PFT

  • Max pushups 2 Minutes (Merkins strict form with a partner counting for you)
  • Max sit-ups 2 Minutes ( BBSU, fingers interlocked behind head, partner holds feet)
  • 2 Mile Run for time.

At the GrowRuck Training Exercise (GTE) the Standard Presented to Pax by Dredd was as follows:

  • 42 Push-ups (Merkins)
  • 55 Sit-ups (BBSU’s)
  • 18:14 or less time for 2Mile run

Best performance per segment for HardNocs Pax:

  • Push-ups- 110 PruneTang (Bada gave him a run for his money!)
  • Sit-ups – 65 Bada Bing (a few others with 60+)
  • 2 Mile Run – 15:00 Flo (quite a few sub 18 and all did well with a couple nursing injuries did not complete the run)

Everyone did an awesome job considering the heat and humidity during the run segment.  YHC encouraged the Pax to see how they did compared to the standard for GTE and for their age group.  See where you are compared to the standard for your age group and set a goal for improvement or  strive for maximum performance (100 points) in each category.  For me, that means I would need to get my run time dow around 7ish minute mile pace.  I need to get my butt to run day more!

Prayers for guidance for PruneTang’s daughter and other Pax with young adult children navigating the world.  IO’s family with the loss of his father in law, Wasted’s family traveling for funeral of Grandmother and finally for the Pax to look to God’s standard and not man’s in their lives.
