4 HIMs posting in the gloom at the soggy grounds at Thunderbolt Park.  There was an uneasiness in the air as the long-awaited day had finally arrived: the pax of Asgard giving a go at Week 1 of the IPC.   Then it finally happened: the clock struck 7 AM, and the only way we could delay it any further was conduct business as usual and start with the COP…  Conditions: 73 degees and 91% humidity

IPC Week 1- It’s the Revenge of the Murder Bunnies.  After last year, the question across F3 Nation wasn’t IF F3 Greenwood would bring back Murder Bunnies, it was WHEN and HOW F3 Greenwood would bring back the dreaded rodents.  Well, the HIMs in Greenwood sure didn’t waste any time.  Uh… thanks?

COT/BOM

YHC reminded the pax that while what we just finished was hard, it pales in comparison to those who sacrificed their lives to save as many people as possible on 9/11.  This is one of those events in this nation’s history that those who were old enough, will hopefully never forget; like those who lived through the Kennedy assassination or Pearl Harbor.  YHC asked for the pax to share where they were when they heard about the attacks.  Each of us remembered exactly where we were and what we were doing.

YHC reminded the pax there was a time when the people of this nation UNITED after a tragedy.  The sense of patriotism and self-sacrifice was amazing.  This pandemic is another tragedy, yet, we the people appear more divided than ever (at least that is what is portrayed in the media, but that is a whole other story).

YHC has a FB/HS friend whose husband asked her why she annually watched videos about 9/11, as it always stirred up strong emotions.  Her response was that it helped her remember what it was like back then.  Too many want to re-write history, and too many have forgotten the good that came from such tragic events.  While we shouldn’t live in the past, YHC asked the pax to never forget, and to pass on what was.  He also expressed that he hopes and prays that one day we will once again be a UNITED States.
