Background: U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, 34, of Houston, TX, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, NC, was killed on June 24, 2010 in Jelewar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

The 6 rounds represent the month (June) and 24 repetitions represent the day Eddie died.

Good work but the Pax this morning!  Although we didn’t do for individual times all completed under 25 minutes as a group.

We had a few minutes left for dealer’s choice core work – Freddie Mercury’s, flutter kicks, up down together leg lifts and dirty dogs.

Weekly QPoint – Whetstone.   

A man must be sharpened like a knife blade

Both a man and a knife are made to cut, but neither can be Effective until properly honed.

A knife is sharpened by a whetstone. While water is used to lubricate the whetstone prior to sharpening that is not where the “whet” part comes from. To whet actually means to sharpen, like with a man’s appetite and his curiosity. In other words, to whet both blade and man is to put on an edge, with a result that is sharp, dynamic and ready to cut. The unsharpened man is dull and lethargic, in-Effective as a Leader and ill-Prepared for the Obstacles he will face in his life.

We should be seeking opportunities to mentor other men and to be also to be mentored.
