Joy of joys, this past weekend I rolled off of a committee in my profession that has been a major source of difficulty in my life. I took the Q today to celebrate that change in my life, joking with the pax that I was going to make them pay for the misery of the last 2 years. The beatdown was simple but effective.

SSH, Reacher, Little Baby Arm Circles Forward & Back, Chinook, Down Dog, Warrior 1

The Thang: On the turf football field

Starting at the goal line, run to the far 10 yd. line – 10 reps of one exercise

Run back, do one burpee at the goal line.

Run to the far 20 – 20 reps of a second exercise.

Back and forth between the 2 exercises at the 30, 40, 50, then back to the far 40, 30, 20, and 10.

Round 1 – Merkins (10, 30, 50, 30, 10) and Ankle Touch Squats (20, 40, 40, 20)

Round 2 – Split Squats (10, 30, 50, 30, 10, split evenly between R & L) and Carolina Dry Docks (20, 40, 40, 20) with 15 SSH at the goal line instead of 1 burpee.

YHC had a 3rd round of abs planned, but we were at time, so we moseyed/fast walked to the flag and got in 20 BBSUs. One of the pax said it ended up being 2.25 miles of running mixed in with the reps.  Good work, pax!


The word of the Day was Perseverance.  You gotta keep going, one foot in front of the other, in the strength of the Lord.  Whatever you’ve been called to, appointed to, volunteered for, elected to, married to – as a husband, father, son, employee, boss, leader, friend – with the Lord’s strength, keep going, in the belief that brighter days are ahead.  Hopefully in this life, but certainly in the next.
