The Kraken Awakens: A Call to Battle for the 6th Annual F3 Jax CSAUP

Brothers, the hour of reckoning is near. On the dawn of Saturday, February 8th, 2025, we gather once more to confront a beast born of challenge, endurance, and transformation. The Kraken, F3 Jax’s legendary CSAUP, rises again—its unyielding trials await those brave enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and declare, “Not today.”
Imagine this: a frigid, predawn sky cloaking your first steps into the unknown. The air is electric with determination. Around you, a band of brothers, forged in sweat and sharpened by shared trials. Together, you march—not to defeat the Kraken, but to embrace it, for it is a reflection of the greatest battle we face: you vs. you.
This is more than just a test of physical might or mental fortitude. This is a crucible where bonds are strengthened, fears are faced, and the uncomfortable becomes the birthplace of transformation. Here, you learn to get comfortable being uncomfortable, to push your limits, and to help your brothers push theirs.
But the Kraken is not merely about the battle within. It’s also about the impact we leave behind. This year, we unite to raise $20,000 for Trinity Rescue Mission, extending our hands to those weathering life’s most relentless storms. Together, we can bring light to those in need, proving that true strength is found not only in personal victory but in lifting others.
The call has been issued. Will you rise? Will you bring a brother with you? Whether you run, ruck, bike, walk, or crawl—just show up. Each step taken is a strike against the Kraken, each bead of sweat a testament to your commitment, and each dollar raised a lifeline for those fighting their own battles.

What is the Kraken CSAUP?
In the cold of the night, peering into the dark of the sea, ancient mariners whispered to themselves and one another, “in mari multa latent” – in the ocean many things are hidden.
In Nordic legend, the most fearful of what lurked unseen was the Kraken, a beast that rose from rolling waves of wet blackness to tower over the tallest mast of any ship before wrapping its massive tentacles around the vessel and laying waste to it and its crew.
In mari multa latent… In our own lives, like the ocean, much hides beneath the surface. Our own Krakens – the personal demons that lay within us – take many forms, each seeking, like the mythical sea monster, to drag us to depths of emotional and physical ruin.
As brothers of F3, we come together to steel our bodies and minds, so that in a world rife with disease, divisiveness and despair, we may overcome whatever challenges arise to steadfastly serve our friends, our families, and our God. We strengthen ourselves by testing one another, by pushing beyond perceived boundaries, and realizing that we can be – that we must be – better tomorrow than we are today. Indeed, there’s a newer saying we tell each other in the gloom – “nothing grows in the comfort zone.”
