What better way to celebrate the beginning of May than with a Coupon Beatdown?
After 6 pax Dolly’d 5 miles, 13 others joined in on a very pleasant North Florida morning for a very unpleasant Block Party. We were still in awe of Aquaman’s 30/30 and fully endorsed his smartsacking!
SSH in perfect cadence, Squats in botched cadence, Warrior pose to stretch the hips, merkins and side raises in a fairly decent cadence, 3 pull-ups to activate those back muscles. We then secured our blocks and headed for far goal line on the turf field.
YHC was so glad there was an even number. Mr. Woodchuck decided he’d rather run 20 miles than face my beatdown, but Ollie showed up to even it back out. Pax paired up, and YHC hit the jackpot, pairing with Pyro. First activity was a Double Block Dora.
100 Double Block Rows – Partner ran to 30 and back
150 Deep Incline Merkins (both blocks on end, chest all the way down) – Partner ran to 30 and back
200 Curls (just 1 block) – Partner ran to 30 and back
250 Air Squats – Partner Farmer Carried both blocks to 30 and back
2nd Activity was in honor of May 1st – 5/1.
5 LBC’s at the goal line, Murder Bunny to the 15, 1 Block-Facing Burpee at the 15, Rifle Carry lunges back to goal line.
Then 10 & 2, 15 & 3, etc. to 50 & 10. When we most of us were around 30 & 6 or 35 & 7 (except for Pyro, who was somewhere around 90 & 18 at this point) I told everyone to jump to 50 & 10. There was much rejoicing. Not out loud so much, but I could tell it was in their hearts.
We had a few minutes left, so we did 4 corners. 1st lap was 5 Jump Squats with Block at each corner; 2nd lap was 15 tricep extensions with block at each corner. YHC didn’t explain this very clearly (refer to 2nd activity for implied explanation), so there were immediately jump squats and various iterations of tricep extensions happening helter skelter all over the place.
We moseyed back to the flag, slower than Extinguisher would have liked, and just plain slower than Pyro, who I think was showered up by the time the rest of us got to the flag.
19 (Mr. Woodchuck was kind enough to re-join us, looking refreshed after his run to Georgia and back) pax and Name-a-rama.
Thought for the Day – 2 Corinthians 4:16,17 is a perfect passage for F3. “We never give up. Though our outward person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For this momentary light affliction is preparing for us an incomparable and eternal weight of glory.” I am thankful that God uses F3 and you HIMs to destroy my outer person, but renew my spirit, day by day.
Welcome FNG Winky!
Pleasure to serve.
