3 HIM of Fleming Island, posting in the gloomidity of Asgard while 3 other HIMs took the detour to the most recent edition to the NE Florida F3 family, the Crossing in Palatka.  The low local turnout did not deter YHC to take it easy on those that did post.  They may think that he had it out for them after it was all said and done.… of course the 100% humidity didn’t help either…

The Thang

It was a tough week for the US military, and particularly the Marine Corps.  YHC felt compelled to honor the fallen with a Marine inspired WOD.  This is the Willy, named after US Marine Corps Sgt Wade D Wilson, 22 of Normangee, Texas.  He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Pendleton.  He died on May 11, 2012 while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

  • The Willy- 3 rounds for time
    • 800-meter run
    • Goblet squats with cindy x32 reps
      • Note: was supposed to be 5 reps with 225 lbs weight; taking into consideration the weight of an average cindy, along with the coefficient of friction and wind shear, I came up with 32 reps being equivalent
    • 200-meter run
    • Pull-ups x11 reps
    • 400-meter run
    • KB swings x12 reps
  • Results:
    • Woodshed: 35:21 min
    • Feud: 41:21 min
    • Roddy: 50:33 min

BOM/COT

Good work by the pax as all finished with time to spare.  There was some dodging of puddles on the dirt road, but we managed.  While this beatdown was harder than it looks, it pales in comparison to what is going on overseas right now.  Which YHC kept thinking as the beatdown progressed.  We remember the fallen, and we are thankful to those that continue to serve.  YHC hopes that one day, we can resume electing officials who we feel are the best to lead our community, state, or country versus voting for the “lesser of two evils.”  Maybe with the growth of HIM through F3, that will happen one day.
