Badlands 11/09/2022 – Pessimist, Optimist, or Realist? What if its all three?

8 HIM gathered at the COT in the Badlands on a day packed with 30+ MPH wind gusts. I found the following quote and it got me thinking….”The Pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” -William Arthur Ward. I feel that the 4th option here is the HIM. As HIM we see the situation through the eyes of the pessimist. He is the person who tends to see the worst aspect of things or believes that the worst will happen. By looking through his eyes a HIM can begin to plan for the worst. We have to have hope like the Optimist. He is the person who tends to be hopeful and confident about the future or the success of something. As HIM we are to believe in a higher power than ourselves. Hope allows us to let that higher power have the controls when we don’t have the clear answers. Finally as HIM we have to navigate through the current situation as the realist. Making the adjustments and decisions to strategically work through the current struggles so that we can keep getting a little better every day. I try to continue growing everyday to be a better HIM. I am nowhere near where I wan’t to be….but I am so far away from where I started.

Warmup – SSH-IC, LBC-IC, Hello Dolly-IC, Flutter Kick-IC, Wide Merkin-IC, Don Quixote-IC, LBACF-IC, LBACB-IC,

Mosey to the wall by the football field. Perform 3 rounds of the following. 15-Calf dips and raises, 15-Inclined merkins.

Mosey back to the COT stopping for the Chinook-IC.

Block work was on the list for the morning. We increased by 3’s today.

3-Manmakers, 6-Block Squats, 9-Bench Press, 12-Alternating Merkins 1/2 on the block, 15-Curlz for the Girlz, 18-Bent Over Rows, One small lap.

6-Manmakers, 9-Block Squats, 12-Bench Press, 15-Alternating Merkins 1/2 on the block, 18-Curlz for the Girlz, 21-Bent Over Rows. One small lap.

9-Manmakers, 12-Block Squats, 15-Bench Press, 18-Alternating Merkins 1/2 on the block, 21-Curlz for the Girlz, 24-Bent Over Rows. One small lap.

We went so fast we had time for one more round. We reverted back to our first set for this round. COR, NOR, Announcements, Prayer Requests.
