On a beautiful morning with a perfect 60-degree temperature, YHC found himself facing a dilemma. He’d forgotten that he’d signed up to Q, and now, him needed to figure out a solution. Determined to make the best of it, he decided to seek refuge in the city’s parking garages.

The warm-up was a solo affair, and soon, we, a group of enthusiastic runners, including Daisy, Seatdown, Pyro, Hey Boss, Sewer Pipe, and YHC, set off towards “The Stein.” Setting a feverish pace (haha) YHC had a plan to challenge everyone a bit more this time, hoping to shave off some precious seconds.

Our journey continued as we reached “Heartbreak Hotel,” with pleasant conversation accompanying us on this blissful run through the scenic streets of San Marco. By the time we reached the second garage, YHC’s legs were feeling the strain, but we pressed on. Daisy and Seatdown energetically tackled the ramps while praising the Q’s leadership skills.

Reaching the top, we swiftly descended in search of the JOI garage, dubbed “Pristine” by YHC due to its unexpected cleanliness. Although this garage was a bit shorter, it hardly provided any respite during the workout.

As we ran up and down the ramps, Pyro and Sewer Pipe couldn’t help but discuss how awesome the Q was, boosting everyone’s spirits. Once we completed this phase, we ventured onto the scenic byways leading to the Baptist Garage.

The Baptist garage is always a challenge, feeling like a scene from “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” with seemingly never-ending ramps. Amid the exertion, Hey Boss reminisced about his Halloween adventures from the previous night and how adorable his kids had been.

In previous weeks, we’d managed to reach the top by 6:10, just enough time to take the stairs down and return to the flag. Today, we achieved a slight improvement, reaching the top by 6:09, allowing us to run down a level before hitting the stairs. The ultimate goal was to continue this route, eventually making it all the way up and down before heading back, but it would require us to reach the top by 6:06.

With determination and camaraderie, we, as a group of men, were moving onward and upward, striving for our goals. It was indeed a good run.

On a side note, a group of walkers (or Stair climbers), including Gecko, Hey Big Papi, Airdrop, Shock Treatment, Bowzer, and Poquito, also took to the streets, and undoubtedly, they, as a group, found time to appreciate the awesomeness of YHC.

Good work men… there will be another chapter in the parking garage saga!
