18 PAX resisted the fartsack and decided to get better this morning. The JAX PAX has been at Memorial since April and has yet to take full advantage of all that surrounds us: the BENCHES….

The Thang

With a partner, start at any bench along the circle. At each bench, perform the prescribed exercises then traverse to the next bench in a counter clockwise manner. There were 12 total stations. After three benches, run a lap before heading to the next bench. Modify the run by lunging between benches.

YHC could not resist mentioning the solar eclipse coming on Monday (PSA: DO NOT look directly into the sun during the eclipse without the proper eye protection). So YHC revised the B.O.M.B.S to S.O.L.A.R. Hence:

During this exercise, the Q provided a clear demonstration why hydration is important. YHC did not have his usual amount of hydration the night before nor this morning and began cramping in both legs. I was able to finally work the cramps out and walk the rest of this block of exercises out. Despite an audible to reduce the reps to the last two exercises, SOLAR was eclipsed by time prior to the PAX completing entire set of exercises.


YHC talked about one of the Gospel readings he read last week from Matthew. In this particular reading (Matthew 15: 21-28) a woman asked Jesus to heal her child who was possessed by demons. Jesus twice denies her request, but persistence finally pays off and Christ heals the child. YHC discussed how God answers prayers on His time. By persevering, during the time we wait for the Lord’s response, we not only demonstrate our faith, but we also are more appreciative of what the Lord does provide for us. YHC encouraged the PAX, especially the FNGs, to keep coming back, persevere through the beatdowns, and get better.
