August 19 2014, at Between 6:15 and 6:30 am, I suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke due to a ruptured brain Aneurysm….
Hemorrhagic stroke “thunderclap headache” – the feeling that Babe Ruth smashed you in the back of the head with a bat… Pain scale level 10+
I Spent 6 weeks in a medically induced coma…..etc. etc. etc.
Hit me up and I can tell you the whole story!
My life CHANGED a lot that day, I got knocked down, but I got up again, and I’m a better and stronger man than before that incident and keep working on changing myself for the better.
There are so many themes I could make todays message about. Gratitude? Being a survivor, making changes in your life, etc.
But todays message will follow on what we heard from Slash a few weeks ago where he suggested writing a letter to your loved ones for when you are gone.
I will ask you to think about during our workout –In the immortal words of Nickleback……
IF……….TODAY WAS YOUR LAST DAY, TOMORROW WAS TOO LATE, COULD YOU SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY?
WOULD YOU LIVE EACH MOMENT LIKE YOUR LAST?
Some of my favorite lyrics in the song (“if today was your last day”)
each day’s a gift and not a given right
Every second counts ’cause there’s no second try
So live like you’ll never live it twice
Don’t take the free ride in your own life
You know it’s never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
Cause you can’t rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin’ stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side
If today was Your Last Day
– and more importantly – WHAT WOULD and WILL YOU DO DIFFERENTLY NOW/TODAY? What changes would you make in your life, what wrongs would you right, would you talk a little longer, hug a little longer, laugh a little longer stay close a little longer…….LONGER WITH BIG RED 😊
As usual, todays beatdown will be accompanied by an appropriately themed music selection. (even though @Prunetang has insinuated I might be gay based on a few songs today, but no one has called him out on the Justin Bieber, New Kids on the Block and boyz to men, and on his phone 😉) not that we would judge you @Prunetang

Some powerful quotes about change in your life
– The 14th Dalai Lama
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.
Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day.
DO IT! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.
POPE PAUL VI – 6th (1897 – 1978)
What would you do if you found out today that you were dying….if you were diagnosed with a terminal disease? Or worse, like me, it just happens, one day you’re here, and the next you are not.
How would you live life differently? Would your life take on a whole new outlook,
OR would you continue to live your life like you had an unlimited amount of time in front of you? “D-Day”
It sometimes helps to be reminded how precious life is and not take it for granted. So really live life as if tomorrow was too late, what changes can you make in your life?
Prayer requests – No specific Prayer requests today
CofT and closing Prayers
Enjoy life today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow is never promised!
Yesterday was somebody’s last day, and today will be someone else’s last day……If today was your last day……what would you do differently Today???
It was a pleasure to lead today.
Have a great day!
